However, concerns were raised regarding potential negative consequences, including academic cheating, the spread of misinformation, data privacy issues, intellectual property concerns, and unfair automated decision-making. The Minister stressed that developing nations like Malawi must ensure equitable access to AI benefits irrespective of location or income. Furthermore, he called for educational systems to focus on equipping students with critical thinking, creativity, technical skills, and ethical judgment, ensuring that AI serves to support educators rather than replacing them.
