I've been thinking about why just about everybody, including me, is gushing about Dolly Parton. It actually makes perfect sense. In a world where empathy is derided and treated as weakness, she never ceased to demonstrate empathy. There were no excluded groups. She didn't make negative noise. She was almost literally a "breath of fresh air" right up to the end of her life. This is incredibly rare and so desperately needed.
