Police investigating murder of employee of ex-MP Raj Grewal, who’s accused of fraud
The recent cross-examination of a witness in one of a slew of lawsuits against the ex-Liberal MP and others raised the fact that a Grewal employee was shot dead eight months ago as he drove out of a Brampton, Ont., mall. Police described the incident as an isolated attack and soon after charged three men in the murder.
Republicans split on Canada as Trump’s trade war escalates: polls
Three new polls offer insight as to how American voters are feeling about their neighbours to the north. The polls found that Americans overall still view Canada as an ally, disagree with renaming Lake Ontario, and are willing to make concessions to make a trade deal. But the polls found some disagreement on these issues between MAGA Republicans and non-MAGA Republicans.
Ketamine-prescribing Ontario doctor suspended after asking patients to waive their right to sue him
The doctor has been suspended from practising for six months after prescribing ketamine over the phone and asking two patients to sign a document promising not to take legal action against him or make a formal complaint. A College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario tribunal called his actions “disgraceful, dishonourable and unprofessional.”
Marty York: Lawyers bid to block TMU law grads from practising in Ontario
York writes that following an independent report which describes Toronto Metropolitan University as a cesspit of antisemitism, the Canadian Antisemitism Education Foundation is looking to persuade the Law Society of Ontario to hear a motion that could ultimately prevent graduates of TMU’s law school from ever practising law in the province.
