Overview
The European old guard has long dominated the mid-size luxury two-row SUV segment, but the Lincoln Nautilus is ritzy, comfortable, and tech-laden enough to be a credible player among pricier Teutonic rivals such as the BMW X5 and Mercedes-Benz GLE-class. And while its cabin materials are plush to the touch, its ride is soft and accommodating, and its 250-hp turbocharged inline-four supplies adequate thrust, it doesn't deliver on twisty tarmac the same way those models do.
Besides its luxe ambiance, the Nautilus is up-to-date in interior tech. A massive digital display spans the dashboard and can be customized to your liking. That's 48.0 inches of space for navigation, a clock, stereo settings, and a view of the upcoming weather forecast, should you be curious. With one of the lowest starting prices in its segment, the Nautilus has European appeal without the cost that usually comes with it.
Expert Tip: Lincoln also offers the Nautilus in hybrid form, and we think that model better represents the Lincoln ethos. Not only is the 285-hp hybrid powertrain punchier, but it's also smoother.
What's New for 2027?
A moderate redesign graces the Nautilus's face and interior for the 2027 model year. Up front, the Nautilus's already prominent grille is now more prominent, and it’s framed by new front-end sheetmetal that gives it a more streamlined look. A pair of new exterior hues has also been added to the options sheet, including Nocturnal Blue and Frosted Fig.
Inside, Premiere and Reserve models get a new Afterglow cabin theme, pairing black door and seatback accents with cream-colored upholstery. The top-trim Black Label model also receives new Eminent Hour and Elysian Light themes. The former mixes dark Tranquil Dusk Menorca seating surfaces with open-pore wood accents, while the latter blends soft white leather with blue accents and Ash wood trim.

Engine, Transmission, and Performance

Under the hood of the Nautilus is a turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four engine that makes 250 horsepower and 275 pound-feet of torque. An eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive are both standard. On the road, the Nautilus is easygoing, quiet, and comfortable. In the Normal drive mode, most road imperfections are filtered out by the suspension. Using the sharper Excite mode unlocks a firmer setup that helps reduce body roll in corners but results in some ride harshness, especially on the largest 22-inch wheels.

In Comparison: Acceleration from the turbocharged four-cylinder is perky enough for most drivers. At our test track, 60 mph arrived in 7.3 seconds. The Nautilus Hybrid proved to be slightly quicker in our hands, reaching 60 mph in 6.6 seconds.

The EPA estimates that the Nautilus will deliver 21 mpg city, 29 mpg highway, and 24 mpg combined. On our 75-mph highway fuel economy route, the Nautilus beat its EPA rating with a 30-mpg result. Interior, Comfort, and Cargo
First Row: The Nautilus does everything it can to indulge its occupants, with large quantities of leather, larger screens, and ambient lighting setting an opulent tone. To up the opulence factor even further, the Nautilus can be optioned with Lincoln Rejuvenate, a spa-in-a-car feature that changes the interior lighting, seat position, screen visuals, and massaging-seat settings to help the occupants relax. It's somewhat gimmicky, but some buyers might find the spa-like experience nice when locked in traffic on the commute home.
Second Row: The Nautilus's second-row accommodations are just as luxe as the ones up front, with nicely trimmed seats and plenty of legroom.
Cargo Capacity: In our testing, we fit six carry-on suitcases in the Nautilus's cargo bay; with the rear seat folded, we fit 19.
Infotainment and Connectivity

Lincoln boasts that the 48.0-inch display area across the top of the Nautilus dashboard at the base of the windshield is class-leading, but with the tape measure turned vertically, it's no IMAX theatre. While startling at first, you quickly adapt to the widescreen layout; the system blends into the background and is ultimately less distracting than a traditional infotainment setup. Besides the four-foot-wide screen, there's also an 11.1-inch infotainment touchscreen mounted to the center of the dash. From there, you can access radio controls, input navigation destinations, and make phone calls. The Nautilus comes with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, while Amazon's Alexa voice assistant can perform tasks for you without having to touch the display.
Safety and Driver-Assistance Features
All Nautilus models come with Lincoln's Co-Pilot360 suite of driver-assistance features as standard. The Nautilus also comes standard with the newest version of Lincoln's BlueCruise hands-free highway driver-assist technology and a 48-month trial subscription.

Although the Lincoln's powertrain warranty is longer than its rivals, including the Volvo XC90 and the Audi Q8, its bumper-to-bumper policy doesn't push the boundaries of what the rest of the segment offers. Paying for the expensive Black Label trim adds dealership perks such as four years of complimentary scheduled maintenance, an annual detailing service for the first four years of ownership, and a culinary concierge for restaurant reservations.
