According to the Luminate Midyear Report, the rise in CD sales outpaced vinyl through the first half of 2026, fueled by the popularity of the BTS album Arirang.
It’s far from a fluke. Even if you remove all of K-pop, CD sals still grew by 6.7 percent, a trend supported by a steady string of high-end hardware releases from Marantz, Bang & Olufsen, Cambridge Audio and more.
