Dody highlighted that clean water access has emerged as the most critical need for survivors, particularly given the dry geographic terrain of Flores Island.
“The most important thing right now is ensuring that the community's basic needs are met. Clean water must be available and immediately accessible to affected residents,” the minister told reporters in Jakarta.
The Ministry's relief distribution is focusing heavily on displaced communities and essential public facilities across Ende and Nagekeo regencies.
In Nagekeo Regency, clean water assistance is being directed to evacuation shelters in Maupongo Village to support 152 displaced families. These logistics are also supplying vital local infrastructure, including schools, mosques, and the Military District Command (Koramil).
Meanwhile, in Ende Regency, clean water supplies are being funneled directly to three primary communities: Raporendu, Randotonda, and Ndetundora.
Together, these relief operations in Ende are reaching a total of 725 families, comprising 2,609 individuals affected by the disaster.
Dody added that while clean water remains the top priority, the ministry is also preparing sanitation facilities to prevent secondary public health issues in evacuation camps.
The Public Works Ministry continues to collaborate with local government units and disaster response agencies to update field data and ensure emergency supplies reach vulnerable areas promptly, he concluded.
