In a statement in Jakarta on Monday, Secretary General of the Ministry Cris Kuntadi stated digital technology, particularly AI, has become a major catalyst transforming the workforce landscape, learning methods, and the way the government designs public policy.
"The Ministry of Manpower's primary mandate is to ensure our workforce is not left behind. The challenge is not simply providing training, but also ensuring that it is relevant to industrial developments. This is where AI plays a crucial role," Kuntadi said.
He further outlined four crucial roles of AI in supporting the employment ecosystem. The roles are quickly mapping workforce needs across various industrial sectors, identifying competency gaps that must be addressed immediately, developing adaptive training plans that meet industry needs, and supporting decision-making based on evidence rather than assumptions.
