„Cancerul nu trebuie să doară ca să existe”: Caz medical spectaculos la Brașov, rezolvat prin chirurgie robotică

A 66-year-old man named Dumitru Bulagea sought consultation for an inguinal hernia and was subsequently diagnosed with colon cancer, which was incidentally discovered during a routine CT scan ordered for the hernia evaluation. Prior to surgery, a preoperative CT scan revealed a 3-centimeter polypoid formation on the sigmoid colon, in addition to the confirmed inguinal hernia. Further investigation via colonoscopy identified a tumorous polyp that had already undergone malignant transformation (adenocarcinoma developed on an adenoma). The patient underwent robotic surgery to remove the malignant tumor, which was confirmed histopathologically to be Stage I colorectal cancer with R0 resection. The patient subsequently underwent two surgeries within three days for the hernia and the cancer removal. Postoperative imaging did not show evidence of metastasis.
