In a statement made by the White House, information was provided regarding the "Lindsey O. Graham 2026 Russia and Iran Sanctions Act," which was accepted by the Representatives and submitted to Trump for approval.
The statement indicated that Trump signed the bill, thereby enacting it.
The law stipulates that customs tariffs will be imposed on countries that have purchased the most Russian oil and natural gas, as well as on high-level Russian government officials, oligarchs, and state companies in addition to sanctions against them.
According to the law, the scope of existing sanctions against Iran is also expanded.
Republican and Democratic senators in the US united around this bill, which was spearheaded by Republican Senator Lindsey Graham, who was recognized for his support of Israel and unexpectedly passed away on July 11th.
The aforementioned bill was approved by the Senate on August 7th and then passed through the House of Representatives on September 17th, and was sent to President Trump's desk.
