Smoltek Nanotech Holding AB (publ) (“Smoltek” or “the Company”) announces that Gabriel Altby will receive an extended mandate as Chief Financial and Operating Officer (CFO & COO). The change aims to strengthen the company’s operational delivery capabilities, tighten project management and maintain strict cost discipline.
Gabriel Altby took office as CFO in April 2026. In his expanded role as CFO & COO, in addition to overall financial responsibility, he also takes a comprehensive approach to the company’s operational processes, supply chain management (PMO), supplier negotiations and the administration of the company’s patent portfolio and IT infrastructure. The expansion of responsibility is being implemented within the existing cost framework.
Gabriel has a solid background in strategic, operational and financial leadership in technology-driven organizations. Before joining Smoltek, he spent many years at Curtis Instruments, where he served as Managing Director for the German and Nordic subsidiaries and most recently as Director of Finance & Administration for Europe. His experience spans from managing logistics, technical support and sales to implementing management systems such as ISO9001 and ISO14001.
Oskar Säfström, CEO of Smoltek, says:
During his time at the company, Gabriel has shown great operational acuity and a deep understanding of our financial priorities.
” In the phase Smoltek is in, a razor-sharp connection between finance, R&D and commercial implementation is required. Gathering the CFO and COO responsibilities with Gabriel gives us the right management structure to drive our projects towards their commercial milestones with maximum cash efficiency”,
Gabriel Altby, CFO & COO for Smoltek, says:
I look forward to taking on the increased responsibility.
”My focus going forward is to eliminate operational bottlenecks, ensure strict cost control in our development projects and create the best possible conditions for our business areas to achieve their deliveries”,
