Hardee has been the Americas Aviation Reporter for FlightGlobal since August 2022. He has a long history as a freelance reporter outside the aviation sector.
Hamilton is transitioning to retirement next year, his 50th year in commercial aviation, including employment, consulting, and reporting about the industry. He will continue occasional editorial contributions to LNA until retirement. Hamilton continues in his consulting role with Leeham Co LCC, which is independent of AIN.
“Howard’s appointment marks an exciting new chapter for Leeham News and Analysis,” Kempeneer commented. “He brings exactly the kind of editorial vision and sector expertise we need to build on the strong foundation Scott and Bjorn Fehrm created, and to drive the title’s next phase of growth.
“We have bold plans for the LNA’s future and AIN’s coverage of the commercial aviation sector, and we’re confident Howard is the right person to lead this next phase of growth.”
“It is an honor to lead Leeham News and Analysis into its next chapter,” Hardee says. “I plan to build off the foundation of sharp analysis set by Scott and Bjorn, while broadening the publication’s scope and accessibility. This appointment as editor of LNA is an opportunity to shape cutting-edge aerospace coverage and chronicle prime aerospace manufacturers developing the next generation of commercial engines and aircraft.”
“Howard is a solid reporter with deep contacts in the airline industry and commercial aviation sector,” said Hamilton. “I look forward to working with Howard during a transition period. I have full confidence that he will continue LNA’s history of industry-leading insight about the present and future of the manufacturing sector and supply chain. The coming years will see critical decisions made by Airbus, Boeing, Embraer, the engine makers, and the airlines about the next generation of airplanes. LNA will continue to be the leading-edge reporting.”
Hardee will coordinate closely with Fehrm, LNA’s Aeronautical and Economic Analyst, covering technical topics. Hardee will oversee LNA’s stable of writers to continue coverage of the OEMs and supply chain companies.

Signals Detected
low severity: Sentence length variance is moderate; rhythm is functional and direct, typical of press release drafting rather than purely narrative writing.
low severity: The text is coherent but highly focused on conveying institutional relationships and congratulations, lacking the expansive philosophical digressions often seen in pure LLM output.
low severity: Standard news attribution and quote use. The final lines blend formal reporting with highly personalized celebratory statements, indicative of human editorial hand-off.
none severity: No immediately detectable fabrication. Claims are attributed to named entities (Kempeneer, Hardee) and follow a standard corporate announcement structure.
