From the Heart of the Event
Some of you may wonder about this title, but it is the very first concept—the first word—that truly describes this state.
I used to believe that emotions and sentimentality were the root cause. The cause of backwardness. The cause of subjugation. But I was wrong. The true cause is psychological: everyone needs something to lean on. Every single action you take is ultimately driven by a quest to elevate your happiness hormones, whether through cigarettes or anything else. Yet, they all share one fundamental trait: dependency.
I am here to discuss a matter of utmost importance: When do we actually act for ourselves?
Right now, you might find this question strange. But let us reflect. Why do you live? Your reasons may vary, but they all converge on a single point: instinct. You live merely to satisfy the demands of instinct. Marriage—I do not wish to delve into it because it is repulsive—and everything else you do, even by those searching for peace, will never lead to true peace. Eating, drinking—all of it is just fulfilling needs, whether material or emotional.
And here arises the question: What is a human being? Or rather, who am I?
Truth is singular, though it has been painted over with the brush of philosophy and various other facades. But that truth is absurdity.
We are living in the "Post-Purpose Era." Since ancient times, humanity had one singular objective: survival. Having achieved this goal in our modern era, humanity now faces a state of semi-nothingness, where a unified purpose no longer binds all of mankind. Yet, we have not fully crossed out of that old era; its remnants, like fear, still linger within us.
But sooner or later, humanity will forget that old purpose entirely. We will confront an age that I shall call: "The Era Without a Name"—because it is the ultimate expression of nothingness.
