What did the Coalition of the Willing summit in Paris deliver? Leaders stressed that they want to turn long-term political commitments into concrete security guarantees, particularly in the area of missile defense for Ukraine. “The most important thing is that declarations are gradually being translated into concrete action,” says Bohdan Nahaylo, Chief Editor of the Kyiv Post, in World Talks. According to Nahaylo, current efforts are moving toward the creation of a European air shield.
Nahaylo also believes that despite delays, the European Union will ultimately agree on a 21st sanctions package against Russia. At the same time, he argues that Ukraine is imposing its own “sanctions” on Russia through strikes on Russian targets.
