Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and his deputy Ahmad Zahid Hamidi are expected to have an audience with Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir in Kuala Lumpur, today.
Utusan Malaysia reported that Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Ismail Lasim is also expected to have an audience with Tuanku Muhriz.
The meeting comes after Tuanku Muhriz revoked the appointments of all Negeri Sembilan state exco members, except for Ismail.
In a statement last night, Tuanku Muhriz said the decision was made after the exco members were found to have violated their oath of allegiance to the ruler when they decided to recognise a proclamation by the state's rebel chieftain faction appointing Tuanku Nadzaruddin Tuanku Ja’afar as Yang di-Pertuan Besar.

- Parti Bumiputera Perkasa Malaysia (Putra) has lodged a police report against Ismail and the state exco over their support of the proclamation to remove Tuanku Muhriz as the Yang di-Pertuan Besar.
In a statement today, party secretary-general Nasrul Ali Hasan Abdul Latif (below, in black suit) said the report was lodged under Section 121 of the Penal Code for attempting to wage war against a ruler, an offence that could lead to life imprisonment as well as a fine.
“Putra does not intend to involve itself in the customary crisis, but matters concerning customary issues must also follow transparent legal protocols.
“Putra stresses that the rule of law and the position of Malay rulers are fundamental to the Constitution and principles of the Rukun Negara. Therefore, they must always be respected and upheld by all parties,” he asserted.

- DAP adviser Lim Guan Eng has praised party secretary-general Anthony Loke as “possibly the most effective transport minister” in comparison to the latter’s MCA predecessors.
Lim commented on Loke’s resignation from the transport portfolio after the conditional pardon granted to former premier Najib Abdul Razak, saying it highlighted the party’s stance on the 1MDB scandal.
“The 1.8 million people of Penang appreciate Loke’s sacrifice of his ministerial post for principle and would definitely thank him for his remarkable contribution to Penang,” the former finance minister said in a statement today.

- PAS urged its members to consider the party’s needs before donating to the fundraising initiative set up to help Najib fulfill his RM50 million fine.
Party treasurer-general Iskandar Abdul Samad reportedly said the Islamist party’s members should prioritise contributing to efforts to gather funds to build PAS’ new headquarters near Putrajaya, with works said to cost around RM50 million.
PAS members, Iskandar (above) added, should also channel their funds to the party’s “Infaq Istiqamah” monthly donation scheme, as well as the local divisions and branches that they are registered under.

“As PAS treasurer-general, I would definitely want PAS members to prioritise their responsibilities (to the party),” Free Malaysia Today quoted him as saying.

As I've said elsewhere, return the power to the people. Have the clans elect the chiefs, the chiefs elect the Undangs, the Undangs elect the Yamtuan. This way, the party that can say they have the majority support can indeed prove that they have the majority support.
