Hyundai is strengthening its vision for electric vehicles with its first three goals in Turkey

Hyundai Motor Turkey CEO Alex Kim discussed the brand's electrification strategy, highlighting Turkey's role in Europe. The company expanded its vision and production capacity by introducing the IONIQ 3, marking 30 years of production success, and by producing its first electric car in 2026. This included bringing the production of the compact electric vehicle with advanced technology to the Izmit factory. Furthermore, Hyundai has produced the Bayon, which started production in 2021 and was exported to over 40 countries, including Europe. The new Bayon is scheduled for production at the Izmit factory in December, and it will offer a 1.0-liter turbo engine with options for future 1.6-liter hybrid powertrains. Additionally, Hyundai also made the European premiere of the Tucson and plans to offer the new model in Turkey in the second quarter of next year, featuring advanced cabin technology and various powertrain options including hybrid and plug-in hybrid systems. The company aims to increase its electric vehicle market share, targeting 9,000 electric vehicle sales by the end of 2026 in Turkey, leveraging the growing consumer acceptance and advancing charging infrastructure.
