London, UK – Bonhams has confirmed key appointments to strengthen its Cars Department Leadership team, with new Heads of its UK and European regions. The announcement follows the confirmation in March that Julie David had joined as Bonhams new Global Managing Director, as the company seeks to strengthen its market positioning.
Michael Squire has been appointed as Bonhams new Head of Europe, reporting to Julie David. Michael joins from another auction house where he held the position of Director of Research and Specialist, developing their research capabilities whilst consigning major collections to auction. He'd previously worked for respected restorer CKL Developments, other noted classic car dealers and Gordon Murray Design. He is a degree-educated mechanical engineer, and an active historic racing driver.
Robert Glover has rejoined Bonhams car department as its new Head of UK, also reporting to Julie David. Robert has been appointed from another auction house where he was their Head of UK Consignments. In this role, he supported the set-up of their European business, consigning collector cars from the UK and EU-wide, as well as private treaty sales. Previously, Robert led one of the leading companies specialising in the sale and procurement of vintage and classic sports and competition cars. Prior to that, he had an extensive career within several Bonhams auction businesses.
Tim Schofield, formerly Head of UK, has now taken up a new role as Head of UK Business Development, building on existing client relationships and accessing private collections for the Cars department and wider Bonhams business, remaining as part of Julie David's leadership team.
Announcing the appointments, Julie David, Global Managing Director of Bonhams Car, Motorcycle and Automobilia department, said: "I'm delighted to welcome Michael Squire to Bonhams, and a warm welcome back to Bonhams to Robert Glover. Both Michael and Robert bring a strong depth of client relationships and consignment experience to Bonhams as we work to strengthen our market presence and ensure that Bonhams car department is the go-to auction house for car collectors looking to consign their vehicles. Tim Schofield's new UK Business Development role will also ensure that we maximise our existing network and explore new strategic opportunities to continue to bring some of the world's most famous and storied collector cars to market."
Julie David, Michael Squire, Robert Glover and Tim Schofield will all be present at the Bonhams pavilion within the Brooklands Paddock at the forthcoming Goodwood Festival of Speed on 9-12 July.
