Hobby-X het weer sy deure oopgemaak en, soos altyd, is dit ʼn bruisende speelgrond vir enigiemand met ʼn kreatiewe streep; of jy nou ʼn gesoute stokperdjie-entoesias is, of net nuuskierig wil kom rondkyk.
Ek het kort ná 11:00 op die eerste dag van die ekspo ingestap en die energie was reeds tasbaar: opgewonde, nuuskierig en vol moontlikhede. Dit was besiger as wat ek verwag het, maar steeds gemaklik genoeg om rustig tussen die stalletjies te beweeg en alles behoorlik in te neem.

Tussen die groter handelsmerke was dit die kleiner, meer persoonlike stalletjies wat my werklik beïndruk het. Tienette Koen Art se stap-vir-stap waterverfboekies maak die kunsvorm toeganklik, terwyl Susan se Kunskas ʼn inspirerende voorbeeld is van hoe kreatiwiteit in ʼn voltydse onderneming kan ontwikkel.

Dit is nie net kyk nie, dis doen
Hobby-X gaan nie net oor koop en kyk nie, maar ook om deel te neem, te ervaar, maak en selfs proe. Werkswinkels soos pasta maak en koekies versier tot harskuns, weefwerk, kolletjieskuns en joernaalmaak bied beginners die kans om iets nuuts te probeer, sonder enige druk om perfek te wees. Die kollig val eerder op die proses en die vreugde van skep, iets wat baie van ons dalk lanklaas ervaar het.

Alhoewel dit besig is, bly die atmosfeer hanteerbaar. Daar is genoeg plek om te sit, eet en asem te skep tussen die verkenning deur. Kaartgeriewe is wyd beskikbaar, maar besoekers moet onthou om ekstra vir aankope en verversings te begroot. ʼn Dag by Hobby-X kan maklik tussen R200 en R600 beloop, afhangend van hoe groot die versoeking raak.
Hobby-X is ideaal vir enigiemand wat hul kreatiewe kant wil herontdek; van kinders en beginners tot ernstige stokperdjie-entoesiaste. Daar is oorgenoeg inspirasie én praktiese hulpmiddels om jou aan die gang te kry.
