Vav-Tharad: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is currently laying the foundation stone, inaugurating, and dedicating to the nation a wide range of development projects worth over ₹20,000 crore across Gujarat, spanning sectors such as power, railways, roads, health, urban development, and rural infrastructure.
As part of the event, the Prime Minister is inaugurating the Ahmedabad–Dholera Expressway, an access-controlled corridor built at a cost exceeding ₹5,100 crore. The project is expected to significantly boost connectivity to the Dholera Special Investment Region (DSIR), while accelerating industrial growth and regional economic development.
In the road infrastructure segment, he is laying the foundation stone for the 4-lane Idar–Badoli bypass with paved shoulders, along with the upgradation of the Dholavira–Mauvana–Vauva–Santalpur stretch of NH-754K. These projects are aimed at improving connectivity to key regions, including tourist destinations like Dholavira, and enhancing logistics efficiency.
The Prime Minister is also laying the foundation stone for a flyover at Bhaijipura Junction on the busy Gandhinagar–Koba–Airport Road, while inaugurating the flyover at PDPU Junction. With over 1.4 lakh vehicles using this corridor ежедневно, these projects are expected to ease congestion and ensure smoother connectivity between Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, and the airport.
In the energy sector, he is inaugurating major transmission projects, including the Khavda Pooling Station-2 and associated systems, developed at an estimated cost of ₹3,650 crore. These projects will facilitate the evacuation of 4.5 GW of renewable energy and strengthen Gujarat’s power infrastructure.
On the rail front, the Prime Minister is dedicating to the nation the Kanalus–Jamnagar doubling project and the quadrupling of the Gandhidham–Adipur section, which will enhance capacity and reduce congestion. He is also inaugurating the Himmatnagar–Khedbrahma gauge conversion project and flagging off a new train service connecting Khedbrahma, Himmatnagar, and Asarwa.
Further, the Prime Minister is inaugurating and laying the foundation stone for 44 urban development projects worth around ₹5,300 crore aimed at improving civic infrastructure and quality of life across the state.
In the healthcare sector, key initiatives being inaugurated include an 858-bed Rain Basera facility at Civil Hospital in Asarwa, Ahmedabad, along with similar infrastructure at Gandhinagar Civil Hospital and GMERS Medical College.
Boosting tourism, the Prime Minister is inaugurating projects such as the Light and Sound Show at Rani ki Vav in Patan and a Water Screen Projection Show at Sharmishtha Lake in Vadnagar, while also laying the foundation for tourism infrastructure in Banaskantha.
Major water supply projects are also being dedicated, including the Kasara–Dantiwada and Dindrol–Mukteshwar pipelines, together worth around ₹1,780 crore. Additionally, the foundation stone is being laid for a drinking water scheme covering Ambaji town and 34 surrounding villages, benefiting nearly 1.5 lakh people.
The Prime Minister is also laying the foundation for three Sabarmati Riverfront expansion projects in Gandhinagar district and inaugurating a Government Boys Hostel at Vejalpur in Ahmedabad to support tribal students pursuing higher education.
These projects collectively aim to strengthen infrastructure, improve connectivity, and drive socio-economic development across Gujarat.
