ShinyHunters Suspect Rey Reportedly Detained in Jordan, Helping FBI Identify Group Members

A suspected member of the ShinyHunters group, known online as "Rey," was reportedly detained by authorities in Jordan. Rey, whose real name is Saif al-Din Khader, was taken into custody on September 29, 2026. He cooperated with the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and law enforcement to aid in identifying other group members. Rey is also known online as ReyXBF and was identified by a security journalist as one of the administrators of Scattered LAPSUS$ Hunters (SLH), an amalgamation group. Prior to this, Rey served as an administrator for the data leak website for the ransomware group Hellcat and took over administration of BreachForums in 2024. The arrest follows another incident involving a 24-year-old Amsterdam man related to ShinyHunters' cyber operations. The group reportedly aimed to apply pressure on the FBI regarding allegations and claims concerning connections to The Com, having allegedly breached over 140 organizations and extorted victims.
