Where does the time go? The Museum of Modern Art‘s sprawling retrospective of Marcel Duchamp closes on Saturday, after a run of more than four months. The show “gives you a massive dose of The Duch, with deep cuts and most of the greatest hits that can travel,” Artnet’s national art critic, Ben Davis, wrote back in April, and it heads next to the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Before it departs New York, the painter Nolan Simon paid it a visit. Simon has looked closely at Duchamp’s work for a long time (it has even appeared in his beguiling paintings), and he filed the deep-dive tour of the show that follows below. —The Editors
