Is he leaving La Victoria? The future of Eryc Castillo at the end of the season and the Alliance's plan to keep him.

The future of Eryc Castillo at Alianza Lima is uncertain due to external interest and internal considerations. The Ecuadorian forward has attracted interest from clubs in Ecuador, Mexico, and other markets. Alianza Lima recognizes that a departure would be difficult because the player is under contract until December 2028. His performance increased in 2026, where he scored 18 Liga 1 goals, making him the club's top scorer. The club's priority was to close the championship with their main offensive reference, and a transfer decision will be based on whether it benefits the club considering his contract status. Interest exists from Mexican and South American clubs, though no offers are currently advanced.

The narrative centers on the tension between individual performance growth and institutional stability, complicated by external market forces. Castillo's emergence as the primary goalscorer creates an internal calculus for Alianza Lima: whether to secure immediate championship success with a proven asset or pursue potential financial gain while accepting future uncertainty. The fact that the club recognizes the transfer would be difficult to negotiate suggests an embedded desire for continuity, challenging the purely transactional view of player value. The structure of the situation—high individual output coupled with long-term contractual obligation—forces a confrontation between short-term sporting aims and long-term financial strategy. The pursuit by external clubs introduces volatility into this internal negotiation, meaning any decision Alianza Lima makes will necessarily involve managing speculative interest rather than settling a purely internal matter. What is the true cost of maintaining a key figure versus leveraging that figure for maximum return?
