The Shadow Docket jumped onto the Republican scales of justice once again.
In another unsigned, nakedly partisan decision, the Supreme Court decided that political parties now will receive the lowest rate for television ads. That is the same rate the candidates receive.
Previously the parties paid the market rate, which can sometimes be 2-3 more expensive.
The RNC has over $100 million more available than the DNC.

…Republicans hold significant cash advantages at the party level…
Having 16x the cash didn’t help Alex Vidman. He lost by 12 points to DSA candidate Angie Nixon.
Voters today want politicians who HEAR them, and will work and legislate for THEM. Angie Nixon will do that and her 12 years as a community and grass roots organizer validate this. Angie also served in the Florida House.
While Vidman certainly had the bona fides – retired lieutenant colonel in the Army, purple Heart-decorated Iraq veteran, whistleblower on Donald Trump for the 2019 quid pro quo attempt with Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy that led to an impeachment trial, name recognition – it still wasn’t enough.
Only the US voted no, with its representative saying the resolution was “superfluous”[ and Africa had to be renamed Trumpland]. There were six abstentions. 164 countries voted in favour of the resolution.
Historians and geographers have said for years that the Mercator projection is rooted in western stereotypes. Activists have echoed this, with some coining the term “cartographic colonialism”.
Some argue that the map has subtly shaped international power dynamics by minimising the physical presence of the global south and visually inflating northern hemisphere nations while shrinking equatorial regions. This is said to have reinforced systemic biases in international trade, development priorities and educational frameworks.
The story
UN votes to adopt new world map that shows Africa’s true scale
The United Nations has voted to adopt a resolution for the world to formally phase out the traditional Mercator map of the globe in favour of one that more accurately displays Africa’s size.
In a session at its headquarters in New York, the UN general assembly officially retired the 16th-century Mercator projection in favour of one based on the more accurate 2018 Equal Earth design. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2026/sep/04/un-vote-world-map-mercator-equal-earth-africa
Nate Hochman lost his job on the DeSantis for President campaign in 2023, amid an uproar over a video containing a Nazi symbol, now works for Rubio’s State Department as a senior aide to one of most powerful figures in the federal government. Hochman joined the State Department under Rubio and now works as deputy director of the agency’s policy planning office, underscoring this administration’s willingness to overlook past transgressions.

The hypocrisy of rounding-up immigrants with little to no transgressions, while the sitting POTUS is a 34-count CONVICTED felon, adjudicated sexual assaulter, PDFile adjacent, and literal NAZI symbol promoters work in the State Department, is beyond the pale.
The hypocrisy is maddening. If the Trump admin can’t lead by example, why are immigrants expected to be so perfect and pious?
And of course the hypocrisy of a First Lady married to Convict-1, whose immigration history is extremely sketchy.
Although now that I think about it, perhaps this is leverage. Imagine wholly unelectable Stephen Miller acting as president through Trump, holding the First Lady’s immigration status over Trump’s head to ensure Trump does what he wants. Hmmm.

I can’t imagine that Trump would allow Pee Wee German to threaten him and hold something over him. Trump would give Miller the unalive Epstein treatment first, in my opinion.
I do think that Trump has given Miller carte blanche in immigration policy – as long as Miller is keeping Trump’s base happy.
As with everything Republican – its ok if they or a loved one does it. In this case, an illegal immigration visa background. Melania and Elon must be relieved they are playing for the right team.
You can’t imagine Miller doing it, but what if Miller used a blonde human meat puppet to front for him?

You mean literally using a blonde human meat puppet as a ventriloquist’s dummy to intimidate Trump? That’s some heavy duty Buffalo Bill sick stuff.
The simplest explanation may be that Trump has given Miller broad latitude on immigration because Miller is delivering on a promise that matters deeply to Trump’s base. Recent polling suggests that Trump’s base continues to support his immigration and deportation agenda despite dissatisfaction with inflation and gas prices.
An August 2026 University of Massachusetts Amherst poll found that Trump voters remained highly loyal—84% said they would vote for him again.
Thanks for bringing up Joey Ramone and his song about Maria Bartiromo, RIP.
It was a shock to see the lady Joey was infatuated with sitting behind Trump at that charity roasting event in 2016. And even more shocking to see her propaganda and conspiracy theories continually escalating in crazy.
The lawsuit, first filed in 2022, says the contamination violated Jacksonians’ constitutional right to bodily integrity. Donald Trump-appointed judge Kurt Engelhardt disagreed. “The Constitution does not provide redress for every governmental wrongdoing,” Engelhardt said. “Defendants’ actions allegedly deprived Plaintiffs of clean water and guileless information. These deprivations, while grievous, do not infringe upon any deeply rooted constitutional right.”
Collectively (there’s that pesky socialism!), We The People in forming a more perfect Union, “insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare.”
Doesn’t “Promote the general Welfare” mean that one purpose of the Constitution is to create a national government that serves the well-being of the country as a whole? How is not protecting us citizens’ well-being fulfilling a purpose of the Constitution?

Now at discount rates, their lie filled, emotionally charged ads will begin polluting our TV screens at levels never seen before.

The explainer of Russian-American Republican political strategist, attorney, and investment banker Boris Epshteyn is enlightening AND terrifying.

Mercator is good for navigation, but not good for much else.
There are many projections that show land in close to its true sizes.
The funeral cortege Donald Trump will NEVER have.

Donny sent out another insane message with a proposed name change.
This one would change “New Mexico” to “New America”.
I don’t think that one will go over at all well.
Trump’s sundowning is permitting him to verbalize insane and asinine thoughts.
