We just pushed several updates to the OSINT VM thanks to @jknsec:
Updated linux.txt and install.sh to reflect changes within several applications.
Modified user.sh to reflect change with Maigret.
We highly recommend building a new VM to take advantage of the modifications, which bring back full function to several dead applications. Log into the OSINT portal from the book to see everything.

Confidence

The text reads like direct, internal communication within a specialized technical community, exhibiting high specificity but low markers for generic AI-generated prose.

Signals Detected
low severity: Slightly erratic sentence length variance; highly technical/command-based structure rather than uniform rhythm.
low severity: High coherence in technical flow; focused, direct communication lacking typical hedging or emotional appeal.
low severity: No obvious matching of common journalistic templates or vague attribution. Specific identifiers (@jknsec, file names) suggest internal/community-based sourcing.
low severity: Claims are tied to highly specific technical actions and references (VMs, linux.txt, Maigret). This specificity makes casual fabrication less likely, suggesting direct involvement or extremely accurate transcription of technical steps.
Human Indicators
Use of specific developer/project identifiers (@jknsec) and file path references suggests an internal communication style common in technical communities.
The tone is instructional and highly focused on action (building a new VM), which contrasts with the typical passive voice or generalized framing of many LLM outputs.
